1. The eating habits here are somewhat sickening. The lady sitting next to me at lunch put more dressing on her salad than there was lettuce.
2. God has answered my prayer to find someone who could take me to church. Her name is Cindy and she works in the RezLife Office. She was so pleased when I told her about APU and what we stand for at our university.
3. Getting text messages from friends in California makes me feel very loved and very happy.
4. Sweet Tea is water's substitute down in the South. I'll stick with the real H2O though.
5. I'm really impressed with the SCAD (Savannah College of Art & Design) campus and I'm excited for this learning opportunity for the next 6 weeks.
6. The SCAD president is also a President Wallace. From what I've heard about her, not even the professional staff members have ever met her. And when I think about our President Wallace, I'm grateful all over again for his intentional involvement and visible presence on the APU campus.
7. I met an RD named Kendra today at the RezLife BBQ and she has renamed me, "My Precious." I'm not exactly sure why, but I think she feels sorry for my gullible tendencies.
8. The guy intern, Khaatim, started dozing off at the BBQ and Kendra poked him in the nose with a plastic fork two times and he didn't budge. But then, when a four-year-old little girl (a daughter of the Director of RezLife) came to tap him on the arm, Khaatim reached out to grab her and his eyes bugged out. I felt bad when the little girl ran into her daddy's arms because she was terrified. It was frightening. We were all laughing so hard.
9. I should be able to update new pictures tomorrow after I officially go through HR training and get my SCAD username. Praise the Lord! Good night!
